Itinerary Overview

Day 1

After a warm welcome, we will accompany you to your hotel in Pauillac. Next, you will be introduced to the Bike Basque staff who will go over the schedule, route, safety as you traverse the Bordeaux Region, and respond to any questions left unanswered. Gift bags that include a Bike Basque cycling jersey, water bottles and road book will be distributed to each guest, and for those who have chosen to rent a bike with Bike Basque, we will assist in setting-up the bike to your specs.

Day 2

Pauillac – Martillac 80 k

The first and longest ride of the week, you will cycle on quiet, easy roads as you discover the magnificent Medoc vineyards en route toward your superb hotel and spa known the world over for its luxury and personalized service, “Les Sources de Caudalie”.

Day 3

Martillac – Saint-Emilion – 50 km

At the 10-kilometre mark of today’s ride, you will cross over the Garonne River, officially entering onto the “terroire” of the famous wine, “Entre-Deux-Mer”. The delightful road carries on, guiding you to the charming town of Saint-Emilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4

Saint-Emilion loop

We can organize a loop around Saint-Emilion, or you can simply take the day to enjoy the town and visit one of the several magnificent castles and vineyards located nearby.

Day 5

Saint-Emilion – Saint-Martin-du-Bois – 25 km

Today we head into “Blaye” wine territory. A short bike ride is on the schedule for the day, but those plans are flexible, so a longer route can be organized if desired. Perhaps you would prefer to relax at your hotel, the “Château Prieuré Marquet”, and visit its vineyards.

Day 6

Saint-.Martin-du-Bois – Mirambeau – 55 km

The last day of riding as part of your luxury Bordeaux cycling tour, no major difficulties await you, but other picturesque landscapes do! More superb vineyards are in store as you distance yourself from the Girond and enter the Charente Region, the site of your last, yet ever magnificent hotel, the “Chateau de Mirambeau”.

Day 7

If your travel schedule permits it, enjoy a bit of “grasse matinée” (sleeping in and taking your time), as well as a delicious well-deserved breakfast.

Bike Basque will accompany you to the airport.
